1. Our environmental commitment
A360 DOO BEOGRAD (“A360”, “we”, “us” or “our”) recognises that protecting the environment, preventing pollution and using energy, equipment and natural resources responsibly support resilient business, responsible innovation and long-term value. As a payment-software and technology company, our most relevant environmental impacts arise from office operations, information and communication technology, procurement, business travel, software design choices and the lifecycle of electronic equipment. We aim to reduce avoidable environmental impact, fulfil applicable compliance obligations and continually improve the practices within our control.
2. Purpose and scope
This public policy communicates A360’s environmental principles and applies to employees, contractors and business activities under A360’s operational control. It covers software design and maintenance, internal ICT, offices, purchasing, travel, waste management and engagement with suppliers, clients and other partners. Where A360 software is operated on infrastructure owned or controlled by a client, data-centre provider or other third party, that operator remains responsible for its facilities, energy sourcing and environmental management. A360 nevertheless considers efficiency within the software, architecture, support and change decisions that it controls.
3. Our environmental principles
- Compliance: fulfil applicable environmental laws, contractual obligations and relevant internal controls.
- Protection and prevention: protect the environment and avoid or reduce waste, pollution and unnecessary consumption before relying on disposal or remediation.
- Efficiency: use energy, equipment, materials and digital resources in a proportionate and responsible manner.
- Lifecycle thinking: consider impacts from selection and design through use, maintenance, reuse and end-of-life disposal.
- Evidence-based improvement: set proportionate objectives, monitor reliable indicators and improve where meaningful and feasible.
- Transparency: communicate accurately and avoid unsupported, exaggerated or misleading environmental claims.
4. Environmental management approach
A360 applies a proportionate environmental management approach suited to its size and activities. Relevant owners identify material environmental aspects and compliance obligations, implement controls, record significant incidents or disposal activities, and report material findings to management. This policy does not claim ISO 14001 certification; any future certification statement will be made only after formal certification is obtained.
5. Climate, energy and resilient operations
- Efficient equipment and workplaces: select and configure office and ICT equipment with appropriate energy-performance, reliability and lifecycle considerations, and support reasonable measures for lighting, heating and cooling within premises under A360’s control.
- Responsible use: switch off or place equipment into low-power modes when it is not required, subject to security, monitoring and business-continuity needs.
- Right-sized capacity: avoid unnecessary computing, storage and network capacity while preserving security, resilience, performance and contractual service levels.
- Travel and collaboration: use remote collaboration where effective, while recognising that implementation, audit, support and operational activities may require physical presence.
- Climate resilience: consider material climate-related disruption within continuity, supplier and workplace planning where relevant to A360 operations.
A360 does not make a public carbon-neutrality, renewable-energy or net-zero claim under this policy. Any future quantitative commitment will be based on a defined baseline, organisational boundary, responsibilities and a credible method of measurement and reporting.
6. Green IT and sustainable software engineering
Environmental responsibility in software is closely connected with quality engineering. A360 seeks to design, develop and maintain software that is reliable, scalable, maintainable and proportionate to its intended use. Depending on the project, this may include efficient algorithms and transaction processing, controlled logging, appropriate data retention, optimised database activity, removal of obsolete components, performance testing, capacity planning and avoidance of unnecessary data duplication. Where architecture choices are within A360’s scope, teams may consider resource utilisation, deployment efficiency, expected transaction volumes and the lifecycle of supporting components. These considerations are balanced with payment-industry requirements for security, integrity, availability, auditability, resilience and regulatory compliance. Environmental efficiency must never weaken transaction assurance or contractual obligations.
7. ICT equipment, electronic waste and secure disposal
- Inventory and maintenance: record material ICT assets and use maintenance history to support repair, replacement and lifecycle decisions.
- Reuse and redeployment: repair, upgrade, reuse or redeploy suitable equipment before replacement where secure, economical and operationally appropriate.
- Secure data removal: erase or destroy data and licensed software before equipment or media is reused, returned, transferred or disposed of.
- Authorised disposal: use appropriate recycling, take-back or authorised waste channels for electronic equipment, batteries and other regulated waste where available, and retain evidence where required.
8. Sustainable procurement and suppliers
A360 considers environmental factors together with quality, security, functionality, resilience, cost and legal requirements when selecting material products and services. Relevant factors may include energy efficiency, durability, reparability, packaging, take-back arrangements, environmental compliance, data-centre practices and the supplier’s ability to support responsible disposal. Environmental expectations may be included in supplier evaluation, due diligence or contractual discussions where relevant and proportionate. For material suppliers, A360 may request evidence of environmental controls or commitments. Environmental criteria complement, but do not replace, information-security, privacy, continuity, financial and operational due diligence.
9. Digital-first working and office resources
- Digital workflows: use secure electronic documentation, collaboration platforms, digital approvals and remote meetings where practical and legally acceptable.
- Paper and consumables: print only for genuine business, legal or operational needs and select reusable or recyclable materials where feasible.
- Waste prevention and recycling: avoid unnecessary purchases, single-use items and excessive packaging, and use available recycling arrangements.
- Water and shared resources: use water and consumable office resources responsibly and report avoidable leaks, damage or waste.
10. People, awareness and participation
Employees and contractors are expected to follow this policy and related workplace, information-security, asset-handling and disposal rules. A360 provides proportionate awareness and encourages personnel to identify practical improvements, report environmental incidents or wasteful practices and support approved initiatives. Environmental responsibility forms part of everyday professional conduct, not a separate one-time activity.
11. Working with clients and partners
A360 supports clients and partners through secure, reliable and maintainable payment technology. Where relevant, project discussions may consider efficient architecture, capacity, deployment, transaction processing, support, data retention and lifecycle choices. A360 will not present a client’s, hosting provider’s or supplier’s environmental performance as its own without a reliable basis and appropriate authorisation.
12. Environmental incidents and concerns
Environmental concerns connected with A360 activities, including improper disposal, spills, hazardous materials, significant waste or material non-compliance, should be reported promptly to management or the responsible internal function. A360 will assess the issue, take proportionate corrective action, preserve relevant evidence where required and consider lessons learned.
13. Governance, objectives and performance review
A360 management approves the organisation’s environmental direction and ensures that responsibilities are assigned. Relevant operational owners implement controls within their areas, while all personnel share responsibility for day-to-day behaviour. Material environmental matters may be reviewed together with business continuity, procurement, ICT, facilities or risk-management activities. A360 will establish and periodically review environmental objectives proportionate to its size, activities and available evidence. Indicators may include electricity or office-resource use, paper consumption, equipment lifecycle, e-waste disposal, business travel, supplier practices or selected software-efficiency measures where reliable data is available and the indicator is material. Progress and significant findings are reported to management; public reporting will be made only where information is sufficiently reliable, comparable and appropriately approved. Environmental objectives, metrics and public statements must be clearly scoped, evidence-based and approved through the appropriate A360 governance process.
14. Compliance, continuous improvement and responsible communication
A360 reviews relevant legal, regulatory, contractual and industry developments and updates its practices where necessary. Nonconformities or material gaps may be addressed through corrective actions, assigned ownership and follow-up. Improvements are prioritised according to impact, feasibility, cost, security, resilience and business need. We do not use vague environmental claims, imply certification that has not been obtained or describe an initiative as having a wider impact than the evidence supports. Where estimates are used, their basis, scope and limitations should be clear.
